The Dundee G Casino has introduced a new Bad Beat Jackpot (BBJ). BBJs are very common in US cardrooms but are now catching on in the UK. To win the BBJ you have to lose with a big enough qualifying hand. In the G Casino this has been set as a full house of Aces full of Jacks (AAAJJ) or better.
There are a few important rules governing the BBJ that everyone should know because you can sometimes lose the prize on a technicality despite having a qualifying hand.
Here are the rules:
1. Jackpot Requirements
- All Jackpot Payouts Are For Texas Hold`em Cash Games & Must Be At Least £1/£1 Games And Above
- It Is The Players Responsibility To Make The Dealer Aware Of Any Payouts
- Once The Hands Have Been Mucked There Can Be No Claim To Any Payout
2. Jackpot Payout
- A minimum hand “Full House, Aces full of Jacks” must be beaten however the casino reserves the right to reduce the qualifying hand.
- Both players’ hole cards must be played in the hand.
- There must have been at least four players originally dealt in the qualifying hand.
- There must be at least £10 in the pot.
- 100% of the main bad beat jackpot will be divided in the following manner:
- 50% to the bad beat hand,
- 25% to the winning hand,
- 25% shall be divided amongst the rest of the players at the winning table that got dealt in on that hand.
3. Management and Contribution to the Jackpot Pools
- For purposes of the jackpot, 50pence from every £5 raked will be added to the Bad Beat Jackpot.
- The “Bad Beat Rake” will be distributed with 100% to the Jackpot pools detailed below:
- Primary Jackpot will be funded by 80% of the “Bad Beat” rake.
- Reserve Jackpot will be funded by 20% of the “Bad Beat” rake.
4. The G Casino Dundee reserves the right to discontinue this promotion without notice.
5. Photo Identification or Membership Card must be provided. If unable to produce either, Jackpot Payouts will be held at Cash Desk until identification is provided.
